Challenge: Backlighting IV (Basic Editing)
Camera: Nikon D200
Lens: Nikon AF Zoom-Nikkor 18-135mm f/3.5- 5.6G ED DX
Location: side of house
Date: Nov 20, 2008
Aperture: 6
ISO: 100
Shutter: 4 seconds
Galleries: Black and White, Horror
Date Uploaded: Nov 20, 2008

This shot was inspired by my other shot "Point of No Return" However, I never tried it with my current camera, at least not with the steam. I also focused on the fence this time.

So Another take with this scene, this time, playing with the ISO some more, and WB. I was just capitalizing on the cold weather now, and my clothes dryer lets out lots of hot steam, coupled with my door light, and I keep getting a different shot everytime. This looks the spookiest so far, more so than the entry I submitted years ago on another challenge.

Editing: heavy on levels, curves, and contrast raising after de-saturating. This isn't a true silhouette, hope others realize it!

Cool effect. I might have tried a slightly different composition without so much going on in the background (window, fence, tools, steps). I believe the challenge also called for non-silhouetted subjects.

Nice shot but the challenge was to keep the subject from becoming a silhouette.

I really like this shot, but just misses the challenge with the subject in such silhouette.
