Lighting from a SB-600 off-camera.
Post processing: converted from RAW in Lightroom, cloned out dust and some imperfections in Photoshop, dessaturate, levels.

I am amazed that quite a few people guessed this one. Even after reading your explanation I couldn't see it straightawy. Then it suddenly made sense, like those images that can be one way one minute and inside out the next. It should have scored better.

A paint brush, painting? No, there only seems to be one layer of bristles and the white liquid is pouring through them. So maybe milk flowing through ??? If it was fringing it would be pushed around by the flow. It's not a comb, so I give up.

I love the blown lighting but when dowing something like that be really careful of the focus and contrast as they can quickly be lost in the process
