 Photo was taken in the shade in the late afternoon. No flash. Exposure compensation of -2/3.

I was trying to illustrate the contrast between the texture and monochrome of the steps and the smooothness and color of the shoes.

Good contrast (vibrant vs. gloomy) with the background of both color and texture. I would consider a different crop to make the top of the balcony(?) less distracting.
