I think a closer view would have been a better choice.

The cut wood has some nice texture. Move in, zoom in, take advantage of it. The trees in the background are distracting. 4

The idea is there, maybe explore the subject closer up to develop it as an abstract.

What an interesting shot. Truly a 'natural' sculpture, and about as abstraact as
you can get.

interseting shot. I would have cropped a fair chunk from the top of the image as the trees take your attention away from the sculpture which is intended to be the main subject

This is a photographic representation of something that has an abstract appearance. The photo itself is not abstract. Way off the mark in terms of meeting the challenge. As a photo, on it's own merits, its pretty boring other than as a factual recording of an interesting stump.

Would have used a tghter crop if possible.

its a good idea and picture, but it should have been cropped to just the piece of wood. the backround is very distracting and useless...

Looks like the former Old man in the Mountain from New Hampshire. This is a great picture. A slight bit more color saturation and it would have been a 10, as is it is "only" a 9. Very well done, and I hope the international audience appreciates it for you.

I can tell what it is.

If you had taken that from closeby, just showing the structures, it might have been an abstract in the definition of this challenge.

I think I'd have cropped a bit tighter, especially on the sides, maybe even into a vertical panorama.
