we have a jasminoide bush in our yard and i noticed a while ago that there was a nest in it at about chest height .. very soon after there were three small eggs belonging to this noisy miner/honeyeater .. ..
nearly every day i'd check to see whether the eggs had hatched ..
yesterday they had ..
as i approached the bush yesterday the noisy miner flew aggressively around my head .. i got a very quick shot of the little hatchlings and went away ..
this is the hatchlings, altho only one is really visible ..

today i approached again and she flew into this chinese elm which is only about 15 feet from her nest .. i took a couple of picks of her and then walked very slowly towards the bush where her nest was .. i got about 5 feet from the bush and she came flying towards me, swooping and aggressive .. i'm hoping that i can get close enough to the babies in the next few days without being injured ..
info on noisy miners

update on the noisy miner and her three hatchlings ..
yesterday i noticed the nest on the ground and the three babies were no-where to be seen .. we think a butcher bird might'v got to them .. i'm very sad ..

That's a beautiful shot, and the vignette does a great job of drawing the eye to the noisy one.

Gorgeous photo, Roz - so very 3D. Love whatever kind of vignette you put on there. Great catch, too. We have mocking birds here, that are very aggressive during mating season. They'll attack your head if you get too close.
