This is our new kitty - Butter! He is a stray who just showed up at our door in the beginning of October. I'm a dog person and not a cat person so I didn't want him in the house. So I put a box on the porch because it was cold. Then I bought him food. Then I let him in for a bit. Then I let him in even longer. Then I got him fixed and bought him a collar. lol yeah, he suckered his way into my life. He's such a sweetie! And he has arrived about a month shy of the 1 year anniversary of our losing our very first beagle, Barney. I'm thinking that Butter might just be some kind of gift from above :)

What a beautiful boy! Lovely picture of him, too, by the way - color is rich, comp is good - all that stuff. But then I'm a sucker for kitty portraits. And yes, you've learned that we don't choose cats, they choose us. Butter chose well. :-)

"Oh NO! What did I get myself into? You didn't show me the camera before I moved in!" LOLGreat shot of Butter! Love his bright, inquisitive eyes.

Ohhhh. . .Butter is BEEEEAUTIFUL! He jumps off the page at you! I think he was indeed a gift. I am so sorry for the loss of your beagle. After a year, does it still hurt? I lost my cocker spaniel just a bit over a month ago, and I still cry for her every day. I'm starting to wonder if I will ever be able to not cry when I think of her.

He stared at his owner, who stared back. It was working! As the limpid pools of his eyes began to swim, a morass of color and swirling energy, Butter knew he had done the impossible. He'd found the power of hypnosis.

In his mind, he sent the message. You shall get me Whiskas, and you shall get me Whiskas now.

"I shall get you Whiskas", said his owner, "You are a good kitty. Good kitty."

Butter grinned inwardly. Oh yes, the power was his, and Whiskas was only the beginning.

Fantastic study of a cat. You get an 8 from me.
Ps. I have an entry in this challenge myself as well but it's not really going anywhere.

that's an excellent kitty portrait. Great DOF and not too saturated (which seems to be the case this challenge). Nice~
