I dont see this as an abstact but a nice portrait very nicely done maybe the light on the right side of the face could be softened.
Nice work 7

As a portrait I would say that the subject is well posed and the background is nicely faded out, but that it is a little too flat because of the flash. But, it's kind of a stretch for abstract.

Im sorry, I don't see how this meets the challenge.

This doesn't seem very abstract to me.

Unfortunatley, this doesn't really scream "abstract" to me, or at least, within the specific parameters defined by the challenge description. There is certainly the material there for suitable manipulation, such as focusing exclusively on the ear-piercing and some slight mucking around with photoshop / paintshoppro. The lighting is also a little harsh and the background seems a little fake (given the halo effect around the hair). That aside, technically i felt it to be a good shot, it's just i feel it would be better suited to an alternative challenge (hopefully not the rusty run if your model stands in the rain too long ;))

Not a bad portrait, good lighting and exposure. Selection of black as the background color s great. But... abstract? Don't thik so.

Definitely does not fit the challenge, not abstract at all.
05/03/2004 08:47:23 PM
Abstracts are about lines, shapes and colors. If it is recognizable as an object - it is not an abstract.

Ouch....
05/03/2004 05:20:34 PM
not abstract
05/03/2004 02:45:51 PM
just reality, no abstract in the definition of this challenge

I agree... You've captured the physical manifestations of an abstract mind.

Hardly abstract.
05/03/2004 07:31:34 AM
Sorry but this is a portrait, rather than an abstract. 3

My, what an attractive assortment of 'aftermarket' improvements! Is this person an abstract thinker, or why would you post this in THIS challenge? I bet his

I won't even go there.

To me, this is more of a portrait than an abstract. It's a very nice portrait too. Great focus, lighting and angle. Shows great detail in this guys face. While I think it's a good image, I'm gonna have to say it's a horrible 'abstract' which is what we're looking for in this challenge. ~Heather~

Wow. That's a lot of hardware. But I don't consider this an abstract, especially per the definition.
