This is my favorite. I think a good photo of poverty needs to painful. This one makes me question if I do enough for others. Well done.

Love the subject. Like the crop. But it is a bit blurry. Seems the shoe is the only thing in focus.

The "Plea" that I see on this man's face, truly captures the poverty. Really a great capture! I'm sure that you're getting some dings because of the focus but, to me, this shot is worthy of a great mark. Technical merit is not what photography should be about. It's what you capture, not HOW you capture it. Too many DPCers are ignoring this and too many technically well done shots are winning that have NO real essence or value to them. This is a 10 from me for a tremendously emotive shot!

Truly emotive. A sad but typical scene - blind person that society should be reaching out to but is not.
Technicals could be better. The focus is off and the highlights blown out.

This image breaks my heart. Technically the shot has flaws IMO (softish focus, slightly blown hightlights) but it has real soul.
