Good idea with the splash but I think the bottom is cropped far too hard, and whilst I think I get the idea to make it look like a natural scene up the right way with the splash being almost abstract and like it is falling out of the sky I think the whole image is made to look very dark and unbalanced because of it.
ETA: Ahh I see the title gives it more meaning, hmm I normally look at the title too must have missed this... I still think the comments above are valid though.

The houses need a bit of brightening, I fear. As it is there doesn't seem to be anything as the subject (in focus) other than where the water meets the water. It leaves me wanting more. |

Nice idea, but as with the other upside down photographs my brain is working overtime to interpret it. |
