In this photo I was generally looking for any bug I could manage to find in a bougainvillea bush. After seeing a small red dot, I tried to get a nice, up-close shot of the little lady bug with, what looks like, some dirt on its rear back. It was a tad difficult to find the right exposure due to the sunlight hitting the back of the leaf directly. I tried my best. Looks as if it came out a little blurry ? Clearly not as sharp as I would like for a clean macro shot.

A closer crop might have helped this a bit. The OOF stuff is distracting to me. Good entry for the challenge topic.

I think if this had been tack sharp and a little closer it could have scored really well, as it is I think it might suffer to the DPC voters 4s and 5s

I might have been tempted to move the leaf on the left and get in a little closer and also maybe move that brown closed leaf (I think that's what it is) near the ladybird. The red and green then would have worked really nicely and dominated the frame.
