I have never seen a snail this color before - it blended ridht in with its environment. I nearly missed it all together.

Post-challenge

Well! A personal best in terms of ranking, if not in terms of vote. Thanks for those who commented. The image is rotated to the left, as you can guess from the darker stalks in the BG, that were only slightly tilted to the left before cropping. The snail really was upside-down.

Good upside down shot. The composition is good... the background is good... But, somehow it lacks something for pizazz.. .and I can't figure out what. I gave it a 6 for 'above average', but not 'stunning'. I wish I could figure this out... I'll come back (again)... *sigh*

Nice colours in this one, whilst I know snails are often found upside down on leaves like this there's nothing in the bg to really emphasise the fact that he is infact not simply rotated, very nice shot though :)

Nicely focused on the shell detail.

I'm a macro fan and this is the only macro shot that's so well composed. I really like the color, green matches very well against yellow. The only nit is some visible noise on body area. You got a "9" for this image. Well done!
