I thought this was quite a beautiful shot. I love the glowing city lights and the starburst on the streetlights. I'm glad to see this did well!

This is really yummy. I like the composition with the boats in the darkness. The detail and clarity is gorgeous.

maybe choosing one subject over the other would have made this less cluttered

It all happened on a balmy night in the summer of aught eight. As the city slept peacefully, they were unaware of their impending doom. One by one they gathered, one by one they joined their fellows, and one by one they eventually crept into the city and brought upon it the final doom.

It was the Rise of the Sailboat.

Nice night scene, well composed and good sharpness. Looks like it could use some masking and dodging/burning to equalize the exposure between the foreground and the skyline ... actually I would not have noticed that except for your title, which made me look closer and I saw the boats, which I otherwise would have missed because they are too dark to really stand out as the subject of your shot!
