Hey guys!!! I'm baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack! :)

After taking a short break from DPC to focus on my professional work, I am back. I'm not doing as much work due to a bad car accident and permanent damage from it, so I have more time to shoot for me.

I recently started a 2nd photo business doing band photography. It's my passion and what I have dreamed of doing for so long. I also just got the sweetest deal. My mom is really good friends with this guy who owns the local Steel Mill that shut down years ago. It's seriously a photographers dream! And I have full run of the Mill and can use it whenever. Which of course makes for AWESOME band stuff!

This is a band called Phantasm. What a great group of guys! We had a blast shooting this. The locker room area where we shot couldn't have been more than like 6'x8'. Also, there is no electric in the place. So we had to power one Alien Bee 400 with a Generator. I also used my SB800 on a stand to help trigger the AB400 and get a little more light.

We had a fan going to get some motion in the photo. I shot this with my D70 and my Sigma 15mm Fisheye! LOVE THAT LENS!

Post processing, I don't even know if I remember! LoL I watched Joey's videos and learned it from watching him!!! I know it consisted of USM, Levels, a duped layer and the High Pass filter. Added a slight vignette to the outside and cropped. Voila!

I don't how it will score, as I have been out of the loop for awhile now. BUT! I know that I am very proud of this shot, and the band loved it. I am learning to shoot more what I like to shoot and I do it for me.

Still would be nice to be welcomed back with a ribbon! :)

I am sorry to hear about your accident, but it is good to have you back! I wish I had a steel mill. :)

After the rise and fall of the Seattle Garage Band scene, Boys with Loud Toys decided to start a new craze, the Detroit Auto Worker's Locker Room scene.

It never did become as much of a success.
