Challenge: Abstract Emotion (Advanced Editing VII)
Camera: Canon EOS-350D Rebel XT
Lens: Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8 EX DC for Canon
Location: Home
Date: Sep 25, 2008
Aperture: F/11
ISO: 100
Shutter: 1 sec
Date Uploaded: Sep 25, 2008

I wanted to take this picture with many different lighting positions to bring the picture to life, but unfortunately, not having a decent lighting source anymore - used to use a great diving touch which I managed to flood :-(, - it didn't turn out how I wanted. Never the less, I thought it was a funny picture so I thought i'd submit it anyway. The abstract part is the upward dripping marmite (yes it almost does defy gravity!)

I imported a single RAW file, and rotated, cropped, and cloned out a few spots on the background, tried to tidy up a few of the lines. Adjusted the levels and brightness, resized.

I don't love it or hate it: I don't understand it. I guess that could account for the emotional part but I think there is no abstractness whatsoever in the photo.

I am assuming you did this upside down so the marmite would look like its leaking upwards. Awesome idea. I wish the white portions of the photo looked more "white".

This is not abstract to me. It's a good image, I think.. but I have to vote it lower for not meeting the challenge. *sigh*

Haha I like those adverts. This is a good shot, not really abstract but I get it, it's pretty funny. I hate it by the by. :P

Im guessing it took some effort (and some superglue to hang it upside-down) to get that! Love marmite .. 7
