I found this to be a particularly difficult challenge and I enter reluctantly, not expecting my photo to do particularly well. My wife looked at this (converted) entry and said 'it screams fuchsia' and I'd have to say her guess was right.

I approached the challenge by trying to find something with abundant color and then removing it in PP. In the end, with all photos considered, it seemed a shame to convert any of them. Hopefully that is the sign of a photo that meets the challenge.

Funny, as I'm typing this out, the thumbnail looks more interesting to me than the enlarged picture. Probably not a good sign!

PP: convert from raw, convert to B/W,(possibly levels, shadows/highlights & noise reduction), crop, resize, sharpen, add border.

Thanks for looking.

POST CHALLENGE:
Unbelievable! Never thought this would break the top 50 when initially submitted. Did it more for my wife than me.

Thanks for the wonderful comments. For those interested, here's the original:

good detail, well composed and converted to b/w. the OOF petals bottom right distract a bit.

Love the tightness of the composistion and the gradients in the greys. It shouts bright shades of orange and reds to me.
