 I just saw a nice looking flower and decided it could fit this challenge, This is by the way my first flower photo.

Description of challenge: "The final photo MUST be in black and white (and the grays in between)."
I've gotta vote you lower because of the sepia color. Bummer... I'm sorry. :(

I love this. Looks more like an orchid - but hey. Here's a question - are you getting voted down because this is not Black and White? That seems to be the reason for my crappy score. Good luck to you.

A very nice combination of highish key and shallow DOF - delicate and warm. I can, however, see actual color (duotone?), and the challenge requested pure B&W - I suspect that will hurt your score. Nevertheless, it's a good shot.

Interesting use of high key. I don't have an instant impression of a color however, still nice use of depth of field and hihg key princles.

Very cool photo. I like the pure white background. However, the challenge says to take a B/W photo. To me this looks like a duo-tone photo.
