 Classic aircraft tails lined up at a Commemorative Air Force show in Lancaster, Tx. The CAF was originally known as the "Confederate Air Force", but had a name change in '02. Perhaps the new one is more descriptive of the organization, and certainly more politically correct, however, I think the old name was just way cooler.

Pre-challenge notes:
Except for some evidence of that lousy midday sun, I'm pretty happy with this. If this were advanced editing, I may have been able to get the really bright spots of sun on the fuselage to show some more detail.

Post challenge notes:
Lost a lot of troll votes in rollover and it went up from 5.3 to 5.4, ending up around where I hoped it would and better than what I was prepared for. I think I had an interesting subject, but couldn't get too much wow factor out of this exposure.

Good shot w/ DOF. Razor sharp focus for on the richly-glowing orange fin. As I look into the shot the blue on the blurred fin grabs a little too much attention. Almost does not feel like mid-day daylight!

bold composition - the triangles with strong diagonal shapes and bright colors add a lot of interest - really well done
