 Well, I couldn't resist. What started as a serious cultural study of a Mexican market turned into a folly when I thought that the chickens looked like a chorus line when viewed upside down.

After reading all of the hoopla in the forums recently about photographic integrity, and thinking to myself how limited we are allowing ourselves to be as artists if we can't have some fun, there was no doubt what had to happen. Dancing chickens.

Can't wait to read the comments on this one!!

A competely legal photograph. Only the background has been substituted. Color corrected via curves, adjusted for brightness and contrast, and cropped. Selective color applied. Red and violette deference clouds used to create the backdrop at 90% opacity with a gray layer and spotlight affect applied underneath. Sharpened, resized, rotated, and sharpened again.

Enjoy! I hope you can at least laugh.

Well, obviously this will (probably) end up in last place (colours are not great, and the detail in the top portion is far too ill-defined), so being all ironic and everything, i thought you should be denied the ultimate pleasure, and award you 10 instead.

Iowa? Some chicken state? I like the idea very much,and your composition is also good. I think this could say "my town" as many towns' economies hinge on such production. They are ever so slightly out of focus, though, and the lighting is somewhat harsh. Still, I like this a lot!

Funny, bizar and creative approach. Can't see how this would attract toruists to your town though. I see some strange green edges around some chickens, especially the left one.

I don't really like the blood in this image, seems too grotesque. I do like the lighting, the blood does connect well with the backdrop. I won't mark you down, but it could have a border, and I'm not quite sure how well it fits the challenge. Funny idea though.
