Crop, a few gamma and saturation tweaks, USM.

Post: better than I expected for sure. Kicking myself about the border. This was put together very last minute - resized to the expert editing size, didn't have original so cropped from the first resize, and then my pgm saved it in black and white, and so on until the border - bigger than my usual, and had I time it would also have been way more muted.

The funny thing is that my monitor is too bright (it's turned down as far as it can go), and I can hardly see this picture.

OVERDUE ACKNOWLEDGMENT: I just realized, in explaining to someone how I took this picture, that I owe its success to the August Flowers side-challenge started by Our Lady of Flowers, Sherpet. I learned.

Beautiful high key shot. I like the detail and exposure. The border is a little distracting but not overly so. Good work. This rocks!

I remember this one - liked it! Thought it was ribbon worthy. Your border complements it, imo. You picked just the right shade of um, chartreuse? and it makes the image look 'finished'. The subtle texture here is a really nifty achievement and definitely adds interest. Congrats on the nice placing!

Border didn't hurt this as bad as you think. Definitely not an overly obnoxious one, and there are still a few of us out there that do this thing called; voting on the image :) Since my monitor is ok, I can tell you that what you did, works perfectly for me.

your image is too overexposed
j/k
I love the touch of color, the border doesnt do anything for me however, maybe a lighter paler shade wouldve been better, the shadow really distracts me from the image, great sharpness 7

Pretty, and I like the way it looks illustration-like.

WOW! beautiful image... 8 as it is now, if the border was not there to distract so much I would have given you a 9 very nice image and would have been one of the best IMO

I like the exposure and processing, and it's a great composition. The border's too strong though. Until I covered it, I didn't even notice that the stem was also in color.

I love the picture but I feel like the border takes away from it. I think the little bit of color in the photo would be better emphasized without the border.

I think I see some compression noise there. The border actually works pretty well, kudos on not cropping off the shadow.

I think the lime border hurts the shot. I like the flower and the shadow. :~)

hmm seems like alot of noise which actually comes across as deliberately added rather than noise you'd maybe get from a high iso.. i like the colours, the shadow and the over exposure but that noise is just putting me off the photo... without the noise i would have rated this very high
