My daughter yawning. She has a cold at the moment, so she's sleepier than usual.

Her aunt says that this photo makes her look ugly :(

Lit by ambient.

Adobe Camera Raw conversion - Just the auto settings then added some fit light. Burned around the edge of the irises of her eyes, Cloned out the leg of a table in the background (hence the silver bokeh).

Ken suggested that the hue was a bit high and demonstrated how he could improve it by reducing the hue and the input level of white. That much improved the result:

Good job with the lighting and I like the warm tones.

Love the bokeh, she really pops out of the background.

Nice use of DOF to isolate the subject. This photo, pose, and crop would be priceless(not that it isnt now) if she had a smile and a twinkle in her eye.

My preferences tend to go toward using a very diluted hue/saturation effect myself. I try and avoid overly warm portraiture unless there's a real reason to use it. (There rarely is in my experience. heh)

So yes, I like the suggestion to tone that down too.

I can't really add any more to what has been said except this: Never listen to family when taking photos, or deciding which ones to keep. They are always wrong. They have too much emotional investment in them. lol.

Priceless. Greeting card material. What more is there to say? Congrats on the capture!

I wish I were taking pics like this when my babes were little. What an adorable moment! The softness is perfect for this innocent moment. I do see a little too much sharpening on the lower part of her upper lip. When I run into this, I usually just mask it out and see if I like it better. She's a cutie!

Hope she slept well after that yawn. Very cute shot, a wonderful addition to the family album.

She's really not yawning, she is saying, "Oh man, put that thing up and stop taking pictures of me already" Great capture. Love the expression.

Oh, what a cutie pie! Love the drool hanging off the tip of the chin. Her eyes are a lovely shade of blue.
