This was actually a test shot for an idea for the challenge. I never had a chance to re-shoot but I was pretty happy with this one anyway!

I didn't really expect it to get above 6, thought it would be closer to 5.5 so i'm really pleased.

It's against a white wall in my home office with one softbox behind me pointing up at the wall and another softbox touching the lens on camera left slightly higher then eye level. Then just a very small reflector to camera right held by myself.

I was shooting tethered to the computer so I could see the results and tried a number of different expressions.

It was always the plan to go for a close crop and convert to black and white with blown out skin but dark features.

Thanks!

This is a nice portrait. I love the overexposure here. I have got to try this sometime.

Exactly, and it works. I have my petty reservation about the crop, but the graphic effect has really come through...

Nice portrair here. I would have liked even better with eyes sharper and in focus.

Between exposure and processing this verges on the edge of looking like a line drawing. Expression of the model is hard to read, but at least it is thought provoking.

He has a sad face. Overexposure is good but I am not sure about the tight crop.

This is what I want from an overexposed portrait. Works very well for me.
