 The effects you see were created by placing a mylar-covered piece of cardboard behind the subject (so it is reflecting what is behind me). I angled the cardboard so that only BG-type info is reflected. The mylar is not perfectly glued to the cardboard & has suffered some from being kept in the truck, so the reflection is not mirror-perfect, which IMO adds to its charm. Basic editing to increase contrast/sharpness & to balance color. C&C welcome.

Waugh! lots of 'very' in the comments, thank you. Sadly, when I've entered one of these in a competition they do very badly as people assume I over-post-processed it. It's amazing how what a person already believes to be true can influence what they think they see. And hard to predict.

i like the effect of using the reflection as a background. but you're right about someone thinking differently without knowing the details

I think I'd like the background all by itself as an abstract, though that type of image isn't photographic enough to do well in most challenges. Maybe we'll have another impressionism challenge for ya'!

The bud looks dejected, BTW.

Did any one ever tell you how clever you are ??? This is just fantastic the drooping ,prickly thing contasting against the soft "Monet" BG is tooooo beautiful . Amen.
