 Roses and I have a haphazard relationship at best. I think they're beautiful but I rarely get a decent shot of them. I have the same sordid relationship with Irises. Love 'em, can't shoot them.

There is this marvelous rose bush beside a small house that is one my way from my voice teacher's to my florist. I have shot it before and tried again on a rainy day in May. Now then, I am not a fan of water drops on flowers of any sort. I find them distracting most of the time. But the overcast day was good for colors and the rain on these is not all that evident to the point of distraction, I think. The fasicinating part of this rose bush is the variety of the colors of the roses. They are not homogenous at all. But with hints of reds, oranges and yellows in all them, they work well together. Enjoy.

I agree the most difficult bloom to photograph. "marvelous rose bush..." - this description is cautious. Beautiful.

lovely soft lighting here on these roses - the two-tone color is charming - the deep green background really allows the flowers to remove themselves from the background perfectly

I love roses and these are so romantic, and visually pleasing to the eye.....

They also have an 'old world charm feeling' about them.
