This is a shadow of my oldest son Ty against a large screen in the Chicago children's museum. The colors are produced by petals falling down the screen. The petals will stop falling where ever they meet a shadow. It was really fun to play with and so I decided to snap a few shots. When I was looking at them on my laptop I noticed one that had the same colors of the American flag so I decided to use it for this challenge, hence the title.

I really thought it would do better, but I am extremely grateful for the comments I received and looking forward to displaying my first Posthumous blue ribbon!

I'm assuming you created this image yourself, i.e., cast the shadow yourself, etc. If so, you get the Posthumous Blue Ribbon. Can't wait to read how you did this...

I'm going to be honest - It doesn't really look like a photo anymore to me, which is problematic in a photography contest. I do like how you executed the concept as well as the bright colors though.

I couldn't decide from viewing this whether it is a real child in silhouette, or a photograph of a peice of existing artwork. I am going to assume the former, and am thoroughly impressed by it.
