I'm starting out with the not so creative shots, hopefully I'll progress to more creative, fun, and artsy stuff.
The Mandevilla that hangs in a basket on the outside of our back-porch awning.
sized, USM, created the borders and then cloned the outside border.

One thing I learned about borders is to leave them off for display online, but it is a good & useful skill when preparing for print on a notecard. My flowers look 'matted & framed' if I create a border before they are printed on notecards. I can use the border to create a feeling of a 'set' of notecards, which I like. But a pre-printed border can restrict your options if you should want to mat & frame it later. I like the style of your border, it doesn't look intrusive to me here. This comp is full of sunlight & fresh air, which I like. It'd be fun to try different camera angles. Do they stay open all day & close up at night? They look very pretty, like they would smell good. things i really like - the warm rich and real colors, the softness and painted feel of the background in the lower section

things i would think about - how can i attack the image from an angle perspective to emphasize the beauty - choose those borders carefully - it seems to interupt the image especially on the left

Add me to the list who would prefer it borderless. Nice bokeh.

Unique perspective. The border though imo doesn't add much here.

Nice bokeh. I think I would prefer without the border.

Lovely flower, but the border detracts from the image.

A pretty flower. I am not thrilled with the border. I'd also change the composition a bit. You've got this great flower on a stem, try shooting it more on a diagonal and don't center the flower as much. You'll find that more pleasing.

for self-described uncreative start, you've done pretty darn well. Good bokeh and nice framing to set off this nice, colorful vine.

I also like the composition and the flower is so sweet.
I am not that fussed with the inside border, as it makes me want to visually look at the border, rather than the image inside the border. I also like the soft DOF background.

Thanks you for sharing this floral image with us.
Our journey has just begun.

Like the flower. . . but in all honesty the boarder takes my eye to it rather than the flower.
