This is a frosted glass cylinder from a lamp, about 6 inches tall and sits in front of a 62mm lens (my 28-300 Sigma) adequately. The blue gel is about 8 inches tall and is wrinkled and abused.
While I'm looking forward to shooting through transparent/translucent surfaces later on, this has my attention right now. So, I'm shooting through a hole, so to speak.
With just the frosted glass, one effect works. With the blue, another effect comes through. I can hardly wait to see what happens next with another variable.
