After 300 or so shots this one turned out to be my best. Not only did I get a hummingbird, I got the tongue as well.

he lack of any real detail in the plumage - cerainly no rendition of texture - suggests that this is a crop from a much lager photo. Assuming I am right, I feel that you would have been better going for a much less tightly cropped image.

looks like you caught this little guy from a ways back and cropped it in way too tightly.
it lacks in detail or you could have just done some bad post process to it.
I know I might sound rude, but really I'm not. Good Luck

Pretty good stop motion on this little guy, but the processing takes away some of the detail. If you had room on the left, he needs a bit over there - the way it is cropped leaves him a bit cramped into the space. Nice warm rich color and good bokeh color and light.
