I keep referring to these fat little bees as "the matching bees" because I always seem to find them on the Black-eyed Susans. Cute little guys with yellow legs, a little camera-shy but I got this one right where I wanted him in the middle of a flower.
Was using a 20mm extension tube so I could get a little closer and fill the frame better. Very bright sunshine so I didn't need to bump the ISO too much (the extension tubes eat a lot of light!).
PP - converted from RAW, cropped, levels, added border, resized, sharpened with noise reduction.
Had to look hard to see the bee! I love the composition, but wonder if it could use a slight levels adjustment to brighten it up ever so slightly. The bee would stand out a bit more.
Love the composition! The little bee is adorable. (love the bees)
The image feels a bit underexposed. I would also dodge the yellows on the bee to make him stand out just a wee bit more.
Mary,
Your Black-eye Susans are in much better shape than mine are. Mine are a bit worse for the wear right now. But they look so pretty to gaze out on.
Very well done capture on our little busy bee. The composition is really nice on this gem.
Quite dramatic as a thumbnail, but even more so, when opening this fully. The color is so striking and so appealing.
I also love the textures as well, and the bee just completes this fine image.....
Thanks you for sharing this floral image with us.
Our journey has just begun.....
Don't worry, Bee happy! Lovely image, I need some of those extension tubes, lol! And for some reason whenever I see these beautiful flowers, I think "lazy susans". I know, I'm silly...
Oh, yes! You found a bee! The bee was in focus, even in the slightly oof flower, so that, along with the perfectly sharp second flower, works beautifully for me. Also, those curved petals keep the viewer in the image and make this a real keeper.
I did not see the bee in the thumbnail view, but it was the first thing I noticed when I opened the image. Just delightful. Love the deep yellows, so dramatic.
