I was at the park with my girls when we spotted this cicada breaking out of its shell. We find the shells all the time, but this is the first time I’ve seen one actually emerging.

that is a photo not for a faint of heart :). I like it though. I think it could be better turned 90 deg CCW...

there is another of these in the challenge, yours is great for focus, etc, but I prefer the angle from which the other image is taken

Very nice. Better than my empty shell one from "Anything but Landscape", which didn't do too well. I got some "ick" factor on that one that kept the score down. Hope you don't get the same. Good catch, I like it.

Kinda gross, but fascinating and totally cool nonetheless. I've seen empty cicada shells everywhere, but I've never seen one emerge firshand.
