 I took two gerbera daisies and placed them in a short bottle in my freezer. I sprayed them with water every so often over a period of two days. Took them out of the freezer and placed them in the brown urn. This is one of the earlier shots before the ice and stems melted and every thing went kerplunk. Tried to reshoot later in another composition and some frost from the top of the freezer which always seems to be in plenteous supply. But it did not work out and the stems were jusr shot. It is time to defrost again....damn. Twice a year just doesn't hack it anymore.

Lit with two clamp lamps each with a 100w halogen bulb on either side of the shooting area pointing up to a piece of white poster board over the top of the shooting area. Camera on tripod with cable remote.

Post: Camera raw adjsutments in PSElements 6.0. Layer adjustments for levels, brightness/contrast and hue/saturation. Spot edit dust. Layer of curves adjustment. Slight CW rotation to straighten the top of the vase. USM and sharpen. Resize. Sharpen.

Mine just died and became mush when I put them in the freezer. Cool shot with nice tones.

i like the coordinating colors and the angles at which the flowers froze. it is a little dark for me, but that is just my taste. still a great photo!

Back to comment: The lighting of this image is exceptional, providing wonderful detail and depth. One of my favorites this challenge. 9 from me.
