This Monument is located in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada.
Terrance Stanley Fox inspired a nation and the world with his cross Canada run to help raise funds for Cancer research. Terry did this even though he had already lost his right leg to cancer. The Marathon began on April 12, 1980. Terry ran 26 miles a day and had conquered five provinces or 3,339 miles, when his recurring cancer forced him to give up his run. His run ended just outside Thunder Bay, Ontario.

He was able to raise 24 MILLION dollars for cancer research.

I like the pose of the statue and the composition you chose.

Great colors but I'm not too big on the drop shadow of the "top" photo.

Wowser! Talk about obscure reference… Admittedly being a little bit pedantic, but isn’t marathon running more about endurance than strength? Minor quibble, I suppose. The image is a goodun’. From this viewpoint the runner looks a bit constipated, but the lighting including the sky is really rather pleasant, and the inclusion of the Canadian flag with pole is really a very nice touch. The border is a bit too sophisticated for my liking, and I might have been tempted to crop out bottom to get rid of the light column at the foot of the picture. The bold depth of colours is very good and overall it's an appealling image. 7.5, which I guess means an 8.

i don't like the border, it make sit look like cheap clip art. The angle looks a little funny when the flag is flowing in the wind..... toward the ground ??? good idea.

Nice job taking a crooked picture of someone elses art.

Cool shot ... the blue sky is perfect and the red flag provides an interesting contrast, even though the statue itself isn't very interesting. Excellent composition though.

I LOVE Terry Fox. What have you done to the border of this? It's overkill in a big way!

Don't really like the border on this one for DPC and I did not penalize for it, but that type of border works well for images on web pages. Good quality and nice blue sky.

It wasn't until VERY close inspection that I noticed the artificial leg. It really could be more the central focus of the image.

I think this would have worked better had you just caught his upper body as I find the bottom cropping a real problem. Otherwise a good shot.

Wow! You caught Ottawa on a bright sunny day in April! I used to live right near the parliament buildings and know this statue well. Good luck! His story is definitely a source of strength to many.

//www.terryfoxrun.org/english/terry%20fox/default.asp?s=1 I hope that is the right Terry Fox. I had never heard of him, sounds like a great young man that didn't get a fair break.
I like your shot-focus, light, color, the composition is the weakness in my opinion. Too much tilt and along with the drop shadow frame it's over done. I think less is more is a good lesson for a shot with two strong vertical subjects. Good luck in the challenge.

Excellent color and contrast. The tilt may be a bit too great for my likings, but still good overall
