Hopefully this one will meet the challenge. Thanks to my lovely wife for the hands. She had to hold still for 8 seconds.

Lowered the brightness and played with color levels.

I think I like this one of the faith images the best. Much more interesting image with the reflection and the long shadow on the cross.

I was thinking about doing something similar for this challenge. I think you've captured it better than I had planned.

The shadow off the cross is great. Nice lighting.

Nice lighting and overall effect. Hands look too posed. Otherwise a great shot.

The idea is good, the setup with the praying hands and the rosary is great, but I think that the candle is overpowering the shot. Maybe you could increase the amount of ambient light to downplay the candle a little more. The mirror underneath is a nice touch also.

Nice warm color. The flame and page corner seem blown out to me.

Being agnostic / erring towards atheism, on a personal basis i can't really relate to this shot. However, I know a damn good picture when i see it, and see it i do. I like muchly the lighting, the shadow cast across the page, and the quality of the image - focus, composition and DOF all, to me (an amateur with no talent) seems spot on. I think that it could do with a slightly going over with neatimage to make the colours a bit bolder, but that aside, very good! 8.

Cool shot... a bit over-exposed, but excellent composition and concept.

This stands out. Looking close for a while I really like the shadow of the cross. I think though the hands should have been sharper than the text of the Bible. The reflection of the candle light also is a little distracting. In fact, I wonder if this image would have worked equally as well with no candle in the image and rather it lit from that side.

Nice image. Shadow of the cross adds a very nice touch. Soft focus cost you a point.

The setup and composition is fine but you need a better lightning. Seems like you are exposing for a long time and only using the candlelight or at least very litle extra lightning. Think if you would have used a litle extra light from the same direction as the candle you could have used shorter exposure and therby avoid the strange flair of around the candelight. The color of the light seems a litle strange, blueish and also the hands get litle unsharp. Continue experimenting.

I can't see I see any strength in this picture. Sorry. It is a picture of a book. If the challenge would have been "funny" or "humour", do you think a picture of a Denis Leary DVD or a book by P.G Wodehouse would have done well?

the candle a little over exposed - 7

Great atmosphere! What other lights, beside the candle did you use?
