 Homage to Roz. I was intrigued by Roz' technique of superimposing whole pictures on other pictures, and also her use of waves as design elements. So... I took some pictures of breaking waves, and saw this old wooden boat making it's way out of the harbor. I dropped the waves over the boat picture and did some erasing and painting. There's also a b&w boat layer that's faded.

Great nautical look of this harbor. The waves work so well to bring in the many aspects of the sea, calm to stormy.

This is outstanding! One of my favorites on this thread because the pieces work so well together, with a common theme. Excellent from conception to presentation IMHO.

totally excellent germaine .. you have really created a work of art here .. love the feeling of movement from the waves .. its like a quiet day on the harbour .. BUT .. watch out .. the ocean is a dark and mysterious beast .. untamed .. it's capable of great extremes .. this image brings to mind both of them .. becalmed and excited .. very excited .. !!!
i cant think of the word for an ocean that's really churned up and the waves are huge, and if you're out there, then your boat is dwarfed, and its a gamble if you'll even survive .. so i put 'excited' ..!! ..:)
