 Well, what happened here. I gave the magnolia a bit of a sumi treatment and then gave it a small stroke. I also fiddled with the colors of the flower to work with the backgorund.
Selected out the background and added the bark.

A bit strange, but what the heck, it was fun.

Love the colors and the border around the magnolia was a good idea to make it stand out ... nice abstract!

I like the border around the magnolia otherwise it might have got lost in the background

your backgrounds are brilliant alice .. love the colours and textures in this converted bark image .. the magnolia looks nearly 3D .. :)
