 Turtles love Sunbathing because they are cold blooded animals.
This is a shot done by the lake in the natural habitat and polarizer will not help much here.
Done with Canon 200 mm F2.8 and Sigma teleconverter 2X,handheld from about 4-5 yards away!

Textures and colours are fascinating - from the orange lichen on the bark to the red and grey shell to the yellow, red and black patterns of it's skin. Composition is excellent too.

A polarizer might have helped cut the glare on the turtle's back, but this is still a nice picture.

Oh, if this guy would have stood still for a diffuser, you'd have a 10. As it is your photography and his attitude makes this one well worth a 9.
