Compositionally I really like how you have done this. I would imagine the more typical way to photograph it would be to try for a perfectly symmetrical shot. As it is a bit off center, and not symmetrical, it causes the viewer to take a second look, and this is good. It is also good that you have kept the balanced feeling of the composition.

Technically, you have done very well. The sky is a deep, rich blue, and yet the structure is not blown out and details/textures are still visible.

Overall, very well done. You have met the challenge in a way that is technically well done and visually pleasing to the eye.

Many thanks Karma for your good critique :~)

Love this! The DOF is dead on and the contrasts and textures all add something. Very monolithic. A nine for you.

I love this photo! Matter of fact, I almost entered something like this -- but mine wasn't as clean and good as this one. It was more of a construction photo, so in the end, I chickened out. I hope it does well. I really love this type of building and photography! Good luck!

Since no one will see it, I'll show you the one I was going to enter :)

Nice work with the polarising filter :-) is this a lighthouse?

Nicely done. I appreciate that the angle you chose is an illusion. None of the parellel lines in this tower seem parellel...they all converge somewhere way up there in the sky. Plus you've managed to capture the curve as well.

Excellent use of contrast. The lines give the image height and prominence of the structure.
