 The part of a feather shaft that supports the lateral branches is called the rachis. Without it, all the other feather "lines" could not take shape - a single line upon which all the others depend.

I am *not* a fan of peacock feathers, but I did give this a 7 (which is a thumbs up) because of the dizzying effect you created with angle and dof. Good job.

Yikes, I think I'm back in the 70's with all those colors! And I may be on drugs ;-) The DOF is a little dizzying, but fun.
