I took this shot while riding down an escalator, holding two boxes of Dunken Doughnuts in one hand. My camera was set to 1600 ASA so there was plenty of grain. I thought this reminded me of an old grainy fast film picture, so here you have it.

Not quite a classical "portrait" in a way. Has more of a stolen/candid moment look and feel about it and the grain added is just a bit over the top in my opinion.

Nice shot I loike what you did, almost makes it look like one of those photo mosaic puzzles.

Reflects the relationship as challenge description requires - but a bit too grainy for my taste!

I lovely sentimental photo, not sure about the use of grain here though.

Nice idea, but it's too grainy & background is too busy.

If it wasn't for the cell phone and the full frame focus, I could almost believe this Scott Cunningham's work. Very nicely done. I love the way you used grain to enhance the image.

Not a bad shot but that effect ruins it.

I personally don't appreciate the grain for this application, and the character of the event might have been better captured by emphasizing on the face more.

Very grainy, too much so, detracts from the moment

Nice moment, and I like the processing. It's a good capture of a relationship between two people, but doesn't really seem like a portrait.

Cool shot. The extreme grain works well. I hope you don't get dinged for that. 8

Nice moment. It's a shame the image quality is noisy.

Grain is a bit much and distracts from the people and relationship.

don't know if grainy effect was on purpose but not working for me i'm afraid
