My dog was barking outside and I was online looking at the DPChallenge site. The new challenge for window just arrived. Unbeknownst to me, I went downstairs and tried to find what she was barking at. I didn't find anything, but I did find that the moon was very eeriely peeking through my window. I quickly grabbed my 10D and decided to grab a few shots.
I took the photos in RAW mode and then processed them in Photoshop. I only modifed the color temperature to 2200k, cropped, and put a frame around it.

The lighting was from Malibu spot/landscape lights that were aiming up onto my house. They created a really neat shadow with the cross partitions that are in the window. As I took the photo I never even realized they were there, I only tried to focus on the moon, but it was difficult to do because it was also foggy outside. The moon kept coming out of focus, but then I realized that it was fog that I was trying to focus on. (Good luck with that) This was the best one that I found out of 30 or so.
Photographed in Camera RAW, processed in Photoshop CS, color temperature 2200, crop & frame. Voila' thanks to all that voted/commented. Jason

What a lovely shot. I know the internal lighting must have made this difficult but the moon is a little blown out, still very good.

Awesome Shot!!! Very nice exposure. Nice to be able to see the details in the window frames and I like how all of the lines play on one another. Great Shot!!!

Odd and conflicting light sources/shadowing makes me alittle suspicious but take it at face value....very well structured.

A contender I would think, were it not for the low contrast around the window areas - I think it would have more impact had you used something to slightly darken the wall areas. Also love the fact that the light sourceilluminating the windows is not the light source we're presented with.

Gorgeous. The border is a little overbearing for the photo and draws my eye away from the delicate and subtle photo. The border has also gone a little wrong at the bottom on the lighter band near the left. Wonderful shadows. Great colours. Would have got one mark higher from me with a more effective and subtle border.

I like the small reflections on the upper panes, but, the blown out highlights on the moon detract a bit. Also, the frame is a little strong for a simple and clear image.

Quite a nice, but cold, capture,,, Perhaps thats the natural outside lighting or you made it so ... maybe even the moons reflection off the swimming pool? My sick mind wants to see a witch riding a broom across the face of the moon. So its time to give this a nice vote and call it quits for the night.

Beautiful! Was this an unexpected photo opportunity, or did you wait for the moon to be in that exact spot?

This shot has a lot going for it -- composition is strong, pulls my eye through the frame right to left... borders compliment the colors well, moon thoughtfully positioned with an artisitc eye... a crisper moom would have gotten you a couple of extra points - as presented 6

This was probably difficult to meter. Unfortunately the chosen exposure has overexposed the moon. With the moon you can use the sunny f16 rule to determine the correct exposure, that is f16 at 1/ISO for shutter speed. This is only the starting point. Adjust the aperture and shutter speed for the affect you want.
