The catchlight in the eyes are awesome! Now that datcat mentions it, f22 does seem a bit unusual for portrait work.

Ok - obviously and admittedly, I don't know what I'm doing with the camera settings much of the time - I just try stuff that works and I know the basics of what affects exposure. So-- f22 because anything less WAY overexposed and I can only set the shutter speed to about 250 before the timing is off with the lights and I get a black band or a complete miss. I would like to get a good flash shot at f2.8 or less - maybe the lights are a billion candlepower - whaddo I know? :/
I'm very grateful for the comments though - it tells me there is something wrong somewhere and I need to learn more if I want to get these right. THANKS!
