impressive capture ..
i guessed he was yawning ..
i take shots of our little katee, the dog, yawning a lot ..
i reckon its pretty funny ..
and when she yawns she does it differently all the time and pulls weird faces ..
anyway ... i particularly like this shot coz you really nailed the focus ..
you could almost present this pic to students studying the teeth of animals .. i dont actually know wot this animal is .. but is does look ferocious .. the nails & his feet are pretty amazing .. they look almost birdlike ...:)

Hahahaha. That possum looks terrifying. Granted, I think they are always sorta creepy, but that pose makes it even more menacing. Great timing. The focus, composition, and exposure are all great on this shot. Great job!

LOL, I thought he was yawning, but since I have no idea what this is, I wasn't sure. Great focus and detail!

Is that a yawn or is that a 'i'm going to tear you limb from limb?' look? Very cool shot!

Wonderful shot - tooth and nail! Can't read the expression, but I am fascinated by the hands/forepaws.

I'm guessing he is yawning, they are usually asleep at this time of day. These animals get a bad rap and are actually very resourceful and adaptive animals. Great shot!

That is the funniest pose I have ever seen on one of these things. Look at those teeth! Great catch and amazing detail on the possum.

Wow, great shot! This guy looks like he really didn't want his picture taken...lol! Do you still have all your fingers? Wonderful clarity and colours.

What a great shot of a possum - you can tell it's sharp enough when you can count the fillings in his teeth :- )

It would be interesting to see this with the background taken out or at least as dark as you can, I think it would make it an even stronger shot.

I need to get in a better habit of putting in details of the shot :-)

I used the D200 with the 70-300 VR Nikkor lens.

It was taken at a special session for visitors at the Denver Zoo. It was the first time I've ever seen a possum.
