From my first shoot with a model, ever. I had to wake up at six o'clock in the morning for this shoot, when I usually go to sleep at 5 in the morning. Damn east facing window. I think this turned out rather well, even though I am exhausted and getting physically sick from sleep deprivation.

Editing steps:
Curves
Black and white, opacity down to 50%
Gaussian Blur, faded down to 20%
NeatImage
Resize
Border

I predict maybe a 5 or a 5.5, DPC seems to hate pictures I really love.

Natural light. Model is Nancy.

It's a shame this didn't score all that well - it does go against a few of the "DPC high scoring rules" but it should have done better IMO. I think if you'd entered any of your other shots from your first series you would have scored much much higher.

I like because it is not a high contrasted silhouette... Very well done!

Not quite dark enough to be a real silhouette, but not light enough to actually show the staring eyes...

i like the lighting effect on the sides of her body.

Good idea, just needed to see a little of the face though...

i can barely see the stare, but if there was perhaps just a spot of catchlight or even a kind of spotlight/bar of light over her eyes it would give it more punch.

It´s more like a silhuet, not a portrait

This is interesting, but I would have like it more if the tree wasn't in the backdrop.

way too dark

I like this photo, although I am not sure it could be described as a portrait. It leaves me wanting to see what the shadow is hiding.

Not a portrait... no face.

We can't see if she is or isn't... 3
