 "As the sea awoke from its slumber, it gently smiled at its friend, the restless sky. The new morning appeared troubled, uncertain of its prevailing mood. As the thoughtful sea attempted to pacify its eternal companion, a silent ship stole quiet passage through the dialog with little notice, interest or influence."

Funny, everyone in their "right mind" was sleeping in their ferried cars while I was bouncing all over the deck trying to get a shot of this amazing sunrise ................. with a boat in the frame of course. I felt lucky to be one of the few that endured fatigue to behold this magnificence.

Though the shot relies greatly upon the environment for its impact, I feel it fits the challenge perfectly. I hope y'all feel the same. Enjoy.

beautiful shot although i think the clouds dominate the pic, if its for a "boat" challenge.

glorious sky but i feel it is the main focus of the photo when boats is the subject. I can certainly understand why you took it though

I love the clarity of the clouds, but the boat is a very minor part of this picture, and the challenge should make it a focal point.

What an absolutely amazing sky. Love the color tone you chosen on this also. Oh and there is a boat to, pity it wasn't closer.

Great sky, fantastic colours. That silver streak along the horizon is the final touch. The ferry is just an alibi for the challenge, right...;) Just joking, it is an essential element, balancing it all.

When you see those clouds, you go in the other direction.
Great clouds and sun reflection off the water. Frame really looks good with this shot.

Wow - looks very 3-D and totally cool. But, the boat is kinda down-played and the challenge is about 'Boats'. So, I'll still go with a 9.

Black cloud,huh? At first I didn't care too much for the smallness of the boat. Came back a few times and now see the black cloud following it. Updated from 7 to 8. Nice shot

Look at that sky!! Rather overwhelms the boat but then boats are always at the mercy of nature, no matter how secure we humans feel on them.

I've lived in Seattle for over 20 years - never seen a sky like that - nice job. If this were a sky challenge, this would be a really high score...
