convert from RAW, slight crop, color balance - greens, sharpen.

Oh, well. Such is life. One of the better pictures I have taken and with the required dappling gently taking place on the trunk of the tree, it just was too subtle for our voters, I guess.

I still like it, and that's the important part.
:-))

Thank you, Damzel for your 'favorite.'

Hmmm. After reading tnun's comment, I went back and cropped. Tnun's right! For this challenge, a closer view would have worked better, probably.

Nicely framed. (Though for dappled light AND at this size, a much closer crop of the boles on the tree would have sweetened the pot).

minimalist, dapple-wise, but very pretty

Absolutely gorgeous scene with warm, dense color and dof. I especially like the way the background is framed between the two massive trees with the dappled lighting drapped over the base of the tree on the right... 10

The roots are great. Sky is barely visible, so I would suggest to crop it out and focus on the roots. It would've been interesting to move a bit to the right to get different persective and give the picture more air by getting rid of the heavy tree on the left or making it less prominent.

This is not dappled light in my opinion - dappled light is light shining through several small apertures, functioning as pinhole cameras, creating circular images on the ground. Sorry, did not vote on this one.
