This idea came to me on the 3rd, so there was just no way I could get it done in time for the 5th. It took a bit of time to find the right costumes, then I had to add stuff to a black suit to create the mariachi look on the guitar player. I had to make a few props too: the stage the guitar player and singer are on is a tray from a microwave dinner painted with textured spray paint that resembles terra cotta. I had to hide the fact that they were both on stands, so the stage hides the stands. I had the mic but no stand, so made one from a wooden bbq skewer painted silver; the base is a water bottle cap painted black. I had the little bottles in the basket but had to make beer labels...you can't really see it in this small of an image but they have paw prints on them :-) The plant in the pot is plastic grass for an aquarium, and the painted pot I got from a junk store, I think it is some kind of air freshener originally.
I ended up putting textures over this because it looks pretty crummy. Lighting is bad, the selection of the characters and props is not so great; I just gave up trying to make it look good and slapped a couple of textures on it! Here is what this came from:

| So much life, and yes Senorita Green Skirt is totally carried away. Background treatment works very well. (Would like the grey cat heads to stand out a little more from the background, but I won't quarrel with feline inspiration). |

OMG COLLEEN .. everytime i open one of your excellent photographs i have a laugh .. this is BRILLIANT .. !!
those cats seem to be having such a great time .. totally into their sounds .. the one in the green skirt at the front is really rockin' ..!! .. & they all look so human with their different expressions .. i love the overlay it creates such a wonderful feeling of old fashionedness with the clothes and the background .. the lights could almost be gas .. !!
love the whole feel .. i can almost hear the music .. !!!..:)
