This is a collection of my favorite things, along with a treasured sepia baby photo of me.

I was so cute and had beautiful curly hair and still do today. This photo had pride and place on top of my Fathers dresser for all the years I can remember.

Story behind this image.....

This is a collection of my favorite things, along with my treasured sepia baby photo, which my Dad loved.

I was always puzzled why my Mum did not have a baby photo of me as a newborn . I found out the reason why not that many years ago. My sister shared the story with me.

When I was born apart from short stature (dwarfism), I also has a stroke, which paralyzed one side of my face. I was also born with fluid on the brain. All the Doctors and Specialists told my Mother to take me home and just love me the way I was. They also said that I may not live beyond the age of 11 years and that I would be severely disabled, and could be in an institution.

My parents proved them all wrong. My uncle, my only uncle, my Mothers sisters husband was Maurice Blackmore. He was the founder and Father figure of all the Naturopath and Chiropractorsm in Australia. Blackmore Health Products are well known here in Australia and around the world.

Blackmores

Uncle Maurice took charge of the situation and drained all the fluid from my head naturally. He had Mum measure my head size every week. I had quite a lot of his products to take and on a very special diet for the first 5 of years of my life.

Up until the age of 2, no photo had been taken of me. This was due to the muck or abscess all over my head, as my Uncle was draining the fluid naturally.

I am here today due to the love and care of my parents, and also Uncle Maurise Blackmore who is and was an amazing man.

I am so blessed.....

Wow Shez you are an amazing woman who's faced adversity at its fullest and yet your spirit is still sweet and your nature is to be kind-hearted to others. I look up to you and I mean that sincerely. You stand taller than most humans, my dear! btw....you have to be the cutest kid ever. You look like the American 'Gerber' baby! :)

Thank you for opening up your heart to us. I love your story. You were so fortunate to have such loving parents and a wonderful uncle. I looked at his products on his website. He has some great things over there, btw!!

I LOVE this picture. First of all, it's a very well set out and photographed "memory" - you have a talent for arranging things, and you're quite skilled at lighting these days, too! But mostly I love it for the story you shared. How wonderful that your parents and uncle decided to prove the doctors wrong! I for one am very grateful.

Shez, this is soooo wonderful! I'm happy for you to have such happy memories, and I cry for all that you have had to endure. But on the other hand, what you've gone through has made you the beautiful person that you are!

Ohhhh what a baby doll! Almost too cute to be real! And yet. . .here you are to live and tell about it.

Oh the power of love -- a mother's love. An uncle's love. And God's love! You ARE blessed!!!!!!
