Thanks for all the great comments and votes. I expected the comments about the left wingtip being cut off, but that's just the way it ended up and was not cropped out. I was shooting continuous at 3 fps and this was about the 10th shot in a very active series of takeoffs and landings by this hen. She wasn't nearly as happy as everyone thought, because she was being chased by a rival for messing around with her man.

Wow, looks like he's smiling, wish the left wing wasn't cropped out on top, still a great capture, love the water splash!

I think floating even more...all the same, nice pic of the take off. I like the tiny droplets and can almost hear the duck quack...

Nice light and great stop-action. The duck's expression does look joyful.

Nice capture, I love how the birds mouth is wide opened, and wings are spred out while the water splashes up behind it! makes me think of the ducks locally frolicking in the water and havin ga blast swimming/flying over the water! they sure do seem to enjoy flying!!! :) beautiful color capture on the wings too! :)

Great shot. I've been trying to take a good landing or take off in water but haven't come even close to this - Great Job!

Great shot. You caught have the duck and its splash beautifully placed and rendered. It is too bad you lost the left wing's feather tips.
