Early morning in Bend Oregon. I was out on business and the Deschutes River runs through Bend in a meandering sort of way. I found a good open spot to watch the sunrise and stepped out on a couple rocks to capture the shot.

Tonemapped in Photomatix Pro 3
Opened in Elements 3 - added adjustment layers for layers and hue/saturation. Some dodge/burn/ selective desaturation of sky and rocks. A bit of cloning sky to smooth blown out sections. Noise ninja at full resolution to smooth and add contrast. Crop and resize for web. NN at web size for sharpness/ smoothing. Rotated canvas slighting to fix potential horizon issue. Save.

It seems a bit too saturated to me, but I think it will work better than the more subtle shot I originally edited for the challenge. I hope this gets me a 6+ score...we'll see...I haven't predicted very well recently!

Nice shot!!! Tonemapping can (imo) sometimes really overpower and detract from an image but not in this instance, where I feel it adds to the depth of the beauty and tranquility of the scene

I love the composition, especially the use of the rock in the foreground, which both hits a rule of third point and also leads the viewer down the river so to speak

Good title for your photo. Nice, soft colors and I like the extended viewpoint. Good luck in the challenge.

very pretty shot. I like the texture the moving water adds to the foreground. Sure is a lot of color there. Perhaps the saturation is turned up a little too high.

Great title. Fits the image and the challenge perfectly.
