After her acting class, I took Taylor to the beach for a few quick shots. The idea was to get some candid shots. It wasn't very crowded due to the weather and this is the best of the bunch. I'm still uncomfortable aiming the big lens at strangers and have a few where they are facing towards me, but they're from too far away. And this couple was more interesting anyway.
Lots of editing before I decided to try the Redfield Fractalius filter, blended & faded in soft light.
Yeah, it's intimidating to get in strangers' faces with my camera lens (to me and to them, I'm sure). It's soooo much easier to snap a shot of their butts and hope for the best. In this case, you got it! Great composition with the young couple moseying down the boardwalk. I like the contrast with the older folks a little further ahead. And, yes, the processing rocks.
Clearly a strong composition to start with, and great timing on the feet. Processing effects are always of interest, but this one looks tailor made for the photo. (What rinac said).
There is nothing in this scene that hasn't been deliberately drawn there by the artist. There's a purpose and meaning for every single element in it. That's what it seems like to me. It's not "just another photo with an art filter", but instead, actually appears as though you sat down and drew this yourself.
