this one definitely has more contrast, but the foreground bushes may be a bit overly sharp. scenes like this with tons of branches are really tough--i know I struggle with them!
perhaps if the shot was taken lower to the creek like an inch above the water to still show the creek but give a different perspective on the trees. |

to be honest - i like the soft feel of the original you took - the second edit seems a bit too harsh for my taste (and I am a contrasty kind of guy) |

Looks great, the usm makes a great difference to the image, looks more 3d to me now. Looks like a nice place, and I agree, much better than watching a rodeo! |
